Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to show how easy it is to gain access to the engine compartment.

Applicable Models

  • All 987 models
  1. Using a plastic pry tool, start on the passenger side area.
    • Using a plastic pry tool, start on the passenger side area.

    • Slip pry tool between plastic trim and carpet

    • lift gently and be cautions not to scratch the trim.

  2. Repeat this step on the driver-side corner.
    • Repeat this step on the driver-side corner.

    • Lift the corner of the carpeted engine cover.

  3. With all the 2 corners released, we can now lift the whole front edge of the carpeted cover. The metallic engine cover is partially visible.

    • Remove the cover via the trunk.

  4. The metallic engine cover is now fully visible. There are 5 screws to remove with the 4 mm Torx driver (red circles). The metallic engine cover is now fully visible. There are 5 screws to remove with the 4 mm Torx driver (red circles).

  5. Now is a great time to clean up all the dust in the engine bay and inspect for any fluid leaks.
