Introduction
Sooner or later, everyone will have problems starting their 911. The first place to look for trouble in your starting system is your battery. The battery is perhaps the most important electrical component on the car, and due to its design and nature, it is perhaps one of the most troublesome.

The battery is located in the front trunk compartment on the Carrera. Turn the plastic tie-downs to remove the black plastic cover

Remove the Cabin Filter Cover and Washer Fluid Cover

Remove the Negative Battery Terminal. This located on the driver side of vehicle.

Always Remove Negative Battery Terminal First!

Remove Postive Battery cable

Remove Vent Tube
-
Loosen and remove battery retaining bracket and bolt

Do your best to remove any debris from this area.

If battery tray is severely corroded, this would be a good time to replace it.

Clean the battery terminals as well as the cable terminal with a wire brush or battery terminal brush.

Install the battery clamp on the lower passenger side of the battery and tighten it to 17 ft.-lb.

ReConnect Positive Battery Cable , Tighten to 3.5 ft/lb

ReConnect Negative Battery Cable Tighten to 3.5 ft/lb

ReInsert Vent Tube

Some Batteries will have the vent tube on the opposite end, simply plug this opening and open vent plug on the correct side.

Its normal for error codes to show on dashboard... these should all resolve themselves after a short drive.
