Introduction

The hood struts over time will lose their ability to fully support the weight of the hood.

Its a really easy fix that even a first time DIYer can accomplish!

  1. Open Hood to expose struts

  2. Before removing struts , support the hood. A adjustable painters stick works really well

  3. Using a small flat head screw driver , pry open metal clips on the top and bottom of strut. Start with the easier end to reach (probably the top). With the clip removed, the strut will pop easily off of the socket. Then you can rotate the strut on the remaining socket to facilitate removing the clip, and popping the strut off entirely.
