Introduction
This guide will cover the basics of removing and replacing the Porsche 997.2 Engine Air Filters.
Applicable Models
- 997.2 Carrera / Carrera 4
- 997.2 Carrera S / Carrera 4S
- 997.2 Targa 4 / Targa 4S
- 997.2 GTS

Locate the filter cover.

Using your T25 driver and bent nose pliers/tweezes, remove the eight Torx screws from the filter cover.

Carefully remove Mass Air wire loom from airbox. (Illustrated by blue arrows)

Be careful not to drop any screws

Each exposed air filter is held at the end with a Torx screw - remove screws using a T20 driver.

Once the screws have been removed, grab the filter at the end and gently wiggle it off of the mount.

Now is a good time to clean any large debris from the filter area .

Do not let any debris enter the intake track!

Place new filter onto mount. Some wiggling may be required, as filter is a tight fit with the bottom housing.

Screw filter back into the plastic.

Reassemble airbox cover and hand tighten all 8 screws.

Should be placed on reasonably tight

Tighten with care so you do not strip the mounting points in the bottom housing!
